Aside from a couple of preview videos sporting the enhanced graphics engine, some hints to stylized strokes from the seed-studded rosters, and press talk you’ve probably already heard about, 2K Sports‘ newly launched Top Spin 3 (Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, DS) official web site offers little more than a typical teaser site for any game. But according to Take-Two Interactive’s sports label, the site isn’t 100 complete, and updates are to come soon.
Top Spin 3 would be 2K Sports’ bid to unseat Virtual Tennis 3 as the tennis simulation to play. The third installment of the Top Spin series has a lot of ground to cover to catch up, but with the help of the Nintendo Wii’s affinity to tennis, it just might pick up the slack.
And hey - 2K Sports tossed polls your way to figure out what you wanted most out of Top Spin’s roster, and you’re getting them with Top Spin 3. Too bad not all the classic legends will debut on every platform.
Top Spin 3 is slated to serve aces this summer, and we’ll find out if 2K Sports finally delivers what you’ve all loved from the first. You’d best keep your eyes glued for more updates till it ships. For now, it’s advantage, Top Spin fans.

It’s quite uncommon for an FPS game to have an absolutely awesome single player mode, and Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PC, Sony PS3, Microsoft Xbox 360) definitely delivered in that oft-ignored part of an FPS title package. Now, we catch wind that while the developers don’t quite have plans for downloadable content for the single-player campaign, it’s pretty much in their reach to dole out some.
This comes directly from one of Infinity Ward’s programmers, namely Jon Shiring. His statement, verbatim: “I wouldn’t rule it out but we don’t have any plans for that right now.”
The reason for this, Jon Shiring explains, is that developers tend to release new multiplayer content instead of single player content when it comes to FPS titles. It makes sense, given the competitive nature of the genre. But - and it’s a resounding but - when it comes to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Shiring stated that the upcoming DLC was in direct response to community requests, and not just because of the inherent multiplayer aspect of the game.
This means, then, that if players want to get more out of the Single Player Campaign, then all we have to do is to demand it. It’s not all that hard, and the devs DO listen (as proven by the incoming DLC), so let’s hope for it, shall we?
As for the upcoming DLC, here are a few details: the Xbox 360 version will be getting its joy come April 4, while the PS3 version a full 21 days after (that’s April 25). No news yet about the PC version, but it’s a safe bet that it will be pretty unique from the console versions. Here’s hoping so, in any case. Updates as we get them!

It’s great to hear from Silicon Knights‘ Too Human on more or less a regular basis now, aside from just news on their bout with Epic Games. In this new video, we find out more about the game’s roots in Norse mythology, RPG elements, and more on gameplay.
The video is narrated by SK’s President, Denis Dyack, as well as their Director of Design, Henry Sterchi. Also in the video is a mini-documentary called the “The Goblin Man of Norway,” which Dyack says is one of the inspirations for Too Human’s storyline.
The video is also available for download on Xbox Live Marketplace. You can check out the documentary on the 4:10 mark on the timer. Here’s the video, enjoy!
With the banning of Manhunt 2 still fresh in the minds of some gamers, many are worried about how British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) will rate Rockstar North’s Grand Theft Auto 4 for both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.
Well, worry no more because the game has been rated and should be making its April 29 release date in the region.
Grand Theft Auto 4 was given an “18″ certificate by the BBFC. While it hasn’t been confirmed, some have surmised that the recently published Byron Review played a part (considering the BBFC responded to it positively) in the quick rating of the video game.
Regardless of the reason, gamers based in Europe can sleep well knowing that the game will be heading their way with one less potential problem.

Mike Sean Baptiste (hmxsean), one of the developers from Harmonix, announced on the Rock Band (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii) official forums that the previously announced “Still Alive” DLC will be available tomorrow (April 1) on the Xbox Live Marketplace for free.
PlayStation 3 owners who want to get this will have to wait a bit. Sony’s been doing some work on the PlayStation Network (revamp, anyone?) and won’t be getting new material any time soon. However, Baptiste did mention that the “Still Alive” track will be available for free when the service goes live once again.
So it looks like Rock Band fans will be getting a nice little update soon. Be sure to keep checking back here for more news.

A recent press release from Sega Sammy detailed that Sega Korea will be closing its doors. This follows the recent earnings report of the company which showed that it will be losing 26 billion (around US 260,580,266).
No official date has been released on when the subsidiary will be closed yet. According to the statement from Sega Sammy, “the liquidation procedure is to be taken promptly after resolution for dissolution at Sega Korea Ltd.”
This is pretty bad news for gamers in Korea. Still, if this is what it takes to help get Sega Sammy back on track (and in the black) then it’ll be worth it in the end.

The video game industry has seen a lot of acquisitions between studios lately. This latest news doesn’t come from the Electronic Arts and Take-Two debacle though. Instead, we hear from Capcom, another giant in the industry.
Capcom has revealed its plans in acquiring K2, the Japanese Studio behind the Tenchu stealth games. The Tenchu series has games on numerous platforms, including the PlayStation 2, the Xbox 360, the DS, the PSP, and even mobile phones.
The acquisition is expected to be sealed on May 1, and will be transacted with an exchange of stock. Along with the announcement, Capcom released a statement saying:
Closer ties with K2 will help increase the value of the entire Capcom Group […] By making this company a wholly owned subsidiary, Capcom plans to make its game development activities more efficient and speedy.
We’re excited to see what the studio behind Devil May Cry would do for the Tenchu series. At the least, we’re excited at the prospect of a new addition to the franchise. We’ll keep you posted, so check back for updates.
It seems that people in UK have a big thing for violent video games, from laws to studies and now to contests. That’s right kiddies, an event has been posted by a UK newspaper offering money for stories on violent games.
Boys and girls, it’s definitely time to put your thinking caps on. StarNow has just announced that they are looking for stories and will be paying in cold hard cash… well, in pounds at least.
On their website, they posted: “Write a few lines about how computer games turned you to crime and if it’s something we like, we’ll call you straight back.” Read that line carefully. Computer games. crime. It’s a little peculiar but we’re sure, it caught the attention of some of you. Hey, all you have to do is write (and write good) and you’ll be rewarded aptly.
As for the participant, you just have to make sure you’re not over 60 years old. Other than that, you’re eligible to participate in it. Now, if you’re determined to partake in it, feel free to visit the link below. We’ll keep you guys posted for more updates.
Got a really good adrenaline rush from playing Capcom’s MotoGP games? If you did, then we suggest to prepare as there’s more from where it came from. Capcom has just acquired rights to bring this particular gaming franchise to different platforms.
This particular deal will be running for five years and will take over the existing rights that Capcom obtained last year for the release of MotoGP 07 for the PS3. The platforms covered in the deal include Sony’s PlayStation3, Microsoft’s Xbox 360, Nintendo’s Wii, the PC, and mobile phones.
With this accomplishment, more and more people will be able to experience the high of playing the racing games under this franchise. Aside from this, players are treated to products of top motorcycle manufacturers such as Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Ducati, Kawasaki, KTM, and Aprilia.
Regarding this recent success, Mark Beaumont, head of Capcom consumer software publishing in the Americas and Europe, said:
We are very excited to have signed this long term agreement with Dorna Sports, which for the first time grants one publisher worldwide multi-platform rights to the adrenaline fueled world of MotoGP.
We feel this move to a single publisher will greatly benefit our ability to develop titles that deliver more authenticity and excitement to the consumer
We have an inkling why it took the testers 40 hours to finish Rockstar North’s Grand Theft Auto 4 (PS3, Xbox 360). Well, it’s probably because of the missions included in the game itself. We got preview information on the five missions.
The first mission is called “Call and Collect.” Niko will be ordered by McReary to kill a blackmailer in the game. Second is ” Final Interview.” It’s where Niko takes on the boys in blue after eliminating Tom Goldberg. Third’s “Search and Delete.” Brucie will ask Niko to “delete” a police informant so that he could testify in court. Still want more? We’ll give you more in the next paragraph.
Fourth is “Deconstuction for Beginners.” Now this is pretty exciting, using sniper rifles, Niko and Playboy X will try to take out enemy lookouts found in the city. Lastly, “Truck Hustle.” In this mission, Niko will have to climb through the windows of trucks in order the to steal loads and loads of heroin.
Did the information whet your appetite to know more? Well, if it did, then feel free to read more about the missions in the source link below. Don’t forget to check out QJ.NET for more updates on this game.
